U.S. PATENT NO. 5,309,720
Abstract of Cryogenic System for Processing a Hydrocarbon Gas Stream
A cryogenic system for recovering a gas product stream and a
liquid product stream from a hydrocarbon gas stream which operates at process
temperature of minus 50 F and lower. A portion of the refrigerating liquid
stream produced during operation of the cryogenic system is heat-exchanged with
the inlet vapor stream and together define a partially closed refrigeration
loop. The partially closed refrigeration loop permits the low process
temperatures to be achieved. Both the cold separator vapor stream and the
stabilizer overhead vapor stream are heat exchanged with the inlet vapor
stream. This process reduces operational cost and personnel by minimizing the
compression horse power requirements.
